T Level Engineering

You will explore core engineering concepts including design, manufacturing, production, quality assurance and project management. Through practical activities and industry-focused projects, you will develop technical knowledge, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills while gaining an understanding of how engineering organisations operate.

You will develop a broad understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes and design technologies while learning how engineering organisations operate. The programme encourages creativity, technical thinking and problem solving, helping you build the confidence and professional skills required by employers.

Alongside technical knowledge, you will develop communication, teamwork and project management skills, preparing you for a wide range of engineering careers and progression opportunities.

The programme also develops teamwork, communication and professional behaviours that are essential for success within the engineering sector.

T Levels are advanced technical qualifications designed for students progressing from GCSE study. Entry requirements will vary according to prior achievement and suitability for the programme. Your qualifications, career aspirations and interest in engineering will be discussed during interview to ensure the programme is the right pathway for you.

Students benefit from access to specialist engineering workshops, industry-standard equipment, CAD facilities and technical learning environments that reflect modern engineering workplaces.

Students may be required to purchase safety footwear and appropriate workshop clothing. Access to a laptop and basic stationery is recommended.

This programme can lead to higher apprenticeships, university study or careers such as Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Design Engineer, Production Engineer or Maintenance Engineer.

T Levels are two-year technical qualifications developed in partnership with employers and industry experts to give students the knowledge, skills and experience needed to progress into skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education.

Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels combine classroom learning with practical industry experience, helping students develop the technical and professional skills that employers are looking for.

As part of your programme, you will complete a substantial industry placement, providing valuable real-world experience and helping you apply your learning in a professional environment.

T Levels are designed to prepare you for your future career while keeping progression options open, whether you choose employment, an apprenticeship or university.

An industry placement is a key part of every T Level programme and gives students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real workplace.

During your placement, you will work alongside industry professionals, develop practical skills, build confidence and gain a better understanding of your chosen sector.

Industry placements help you:

  • Develop technical and professional skills
  • Build confidence and independence
  • Gain experience valued by employers and universities
  • Explore career opportunities within your chosen industry
  • Develop workplace behaviours and professional networks

Your placement will be carefully planned and supported by both the College and your employer to ensure you gain meaningful and relevant industry experience.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSE's, and for 19-24 with an EHCP. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form we may still be able to help. Speak to the admissions team for more information. There maybe free or reduced costs for adults, contact the admissions team to see if you are eligible.
