T Levels are two-year technical qualifications, equivalent to three A Levels, designed with employers to prepare students for skilled employment, higher apprenticeships and university progression.
The Early Years pathway is ideal for students who are passionate about supporting young children's learning, development and wellbeing. Throughout the programme, you will develop an understanding of how children grow, learn and develop from birth to five years, while exploring the vital role early years professionals play in shaping positive outcomes for children and families.
Combining classroom learning with substantial industry experience, this programme provides an excellent foundation for careers within childcare and early years education.
You will explore child development, safeguarding, health and wellbeing, communication, inclusive practice and the importance of play in supporting learning. The programme develops both your professional knowledge and your practical skills, helping you understand how children develop socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.
Alongside technical knowledge, you will develop the confidence, communication skills and professionalism required to work effectively with children, families and colleagues in a range of early years settings.
T Levels are advanced technical qualifications designed for students progressing from GCSE study. Entry requirements will vary depending on prior achievement and chosen pathway. During your interview, tutors will discuss your qualifications, interests and career aspirations to ensure the programme is right for you.
Students benefit from specialist early years learning environments, interactive teaching spaces and resources designed to replicate professional childcare settings.
Students should be prepared to engage professionally within childcare environments and may require access to a laptop and standard study materials.
This programme can lead directly to employment within early years settings or progression to higher education and apprenticeships. Career opportunities include Early Years Educator, Nursery Practitioner, Family Support Worker and Childcare Practitioner.

Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels combine classroom learning with practical industry experience, helping students develop the technical and professional skills that employers are looking for.
As part of your programme, you will complete a substantial industry placement, providing valuable real-world experience and helping you apply your learning in a professional environment.

An industry placement is a key part of every T Level programme and gives students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real workplace.
During your placement, you will work alongside industry professionals, develop practical skills, build confidence and gain a better understanding of your chosen sector.

Your placement will be carefully planned and supported by both the College and your employer to ensure you gain meaningful and relevant industry experience.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSE's, and for 19-24 with an EHCP. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form we may still be able to help. Speak to the admissions team for more information. There maybe free or reduced costs for adults, contact the admissions team to see if you are eligible.
Once you have submitted your application, you will be invited to attend an interview with one of our specialist tutors.
