T Level Education - Assisting Teaching

This T Level has been developed with education employers to prepare students for careers supporting teaching and learning within schools and educational settings.
The programme combines academic study with practical experience, helping students develop an understanding of how children and young people learn and how educational professionals support their development and achievement.
Students gain valuable insight into modern education while developing the professional skills required to work effectively alongside teachers and support staff.
Throughout the programme, you will explore child and adolescent development, safeguarding, special educational needs and disabilities, behaviour management and inclusive education. You will gain an understanding of how schools support learners from different backgrounds and abilities while developing the communication and interpersonal skills required within educational environments.
The course also develops leadership, teamwork and professional behaviours that are highly valued within the education sector.
T Levels are advanced technical qualifications designed for students progressing from GCSE study. Entry requirements will vary depending on prior achievement and chosen pathway. During your interview, tutors will discuss your qualifications, interests and career aspirations to ensure the programme is right for you.
Students benefit from specialist education classrooms, digital learning technologies and resources that support teaching and learning practice.
Students should have access to standard study materials and a laptop where possible. Professional conduct and commitment to working with children and young people are essential.
Progression opportunities include Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, SEND Support Assistant, Education Support Worker, apprenticeships and higher education programmes.
T Levels are two-year technical qualifications developed in partnership with employers and industry experts to give students the knowledge, skills and experience needed to progress into skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education.
Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels combine classroom learning with practical industry experience, helping students develop the technical and professional skills that employers are looking for.
As part of your programme, you will complete a substantial industry placement, providing valuable real-world experience and helping you apply your learning in a professional environment.
T Levels are designed to prepare you for your future career while keeping progression options open, whether you choose employment, an apprenticeship or university.

An industry placement is a key part of every T Level programme and gives students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in a real workplace.
During your placement, you will work alongside industry professionals, develop practical skills, build confidence and gain a better understanding of your chosen sector.

Your placement will be carefully planned and supported by both the College and your employer to ensure you gain meaningful and relevant industry experience.

Courses are free for 16-18 who have not studied higher than GCSE's, and for 19-24 with an EHCP. Even if you have studied a different course at college or sixth form we may still be able to help. Speak to the admissions team for more information. There maybe free or reduced costs for adults, contact the admissions team to see if you are eligible.
